Biography

Professor Ossama Yassin Mansour is a Distinguished Professor of Clinical and Interventional Neurology at Alexandria University School of Medicine, Egypt, holding dual qualifications in Neurology and Neuroradiology. With extensive international training across Egypt, Germany, and France, he has built a career of pioneering achievements in stroke care and interventional neurotherapeutics.

Prof. Mansour founded the first comprehensive stroke center in Egypt and established the country's first Interventional Neurology Fellowship Program, training an entire generation of specialists who now practice throughout the MENA region. He serves as President of the Middle East North Africa Stroke and Interventional Neurotherapeutics Organization (MENA-SINO), an umbrella organization spanning 23 countries, and holds the distinction of being the first non-American to serve on the SVIN Executive Board and the first MENA representative elected to the World Stroke Organization Executive Board.

His research portfolio encompasses over 160 peer-reviewed articles with an h-index of 24 and 2,191 total citations, focusing on endovascular outcome research, efficacy and safety of new treatments for neurovascular diseases, clinical trial design, and medical devices research for stroke, aneurysm, and AVM treatment. He is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Interventional Medicine and serves on the editorial boards of Frontiers in Neurology and Interventional Neurology.

Beyond his clinical and research contributions, Prof. Mansour is deeply committed to medical education. As Fellowship Director at Alexandria University and Regional Workshop Director for the MENA-SINO Annual Stroke and Neurointervention Workshops, he coordinates hands-on training for physicians across 21 countries, with a particular focus on developing skills in underserved regions.
